Team Effort Lifts Clippers Over Heat

Clippers beat the Heat.

The Clippers were without 4 starters and somehow managed to beat the Miami Heat last Monday.

Next man up Marcus Morris had 32 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists.

“Yeah man, I’m a hooper,” Morris calmly expressed in the postgame inverview. “You know, whatever you need me to do.”

Ivica Zubac added 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist while Amir Cofey had 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists in a true team effort. Terrence Mann also chipped in 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists in the win.

The Clippers pulled together and won this game on Monday night without 4 starters including Kawahi Leonard, and Paul George. They were also without Patrick Beverly and Nicolas Batum.

After the 1st quarter the Clippers we’re basically hanging with the Eastern Conference champs 35-33. Going into halftime the score was 67-62 Clippers as the promoted second string started to find their confidence. 

“Yeah, we [had] to do it by committee,” HC Tyronn Lue said in the postgame presser.

Heading into the 4th quarter the Heat battled back and cut the lead to 1 at 92-91, but the Clippers ended up rallying late for the win, 125-118.
