An undermanned Houston Rockets team missing James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Clint Capela pulled off an upset win against Rudy Gobert and the Utah Jazz. How did they do it?

This video shows how the Rockets used tactics such as fronting the post, help defense, and switching the pick and roll to neutralize the Jazz’s offense and especially Rudy Gobert.

this only works because gobert isn't really a scorer type his just purely defensive player, but with teams like lakers who has ad, howard and mcgee and also a lebron that could get set them up for easy basket, they will be butchered in the playoffs.

Put Hakeem instead of Gobert and see what happens. Nba teams shot themselves in the foot by limiting their bigs roles. Now, there are almost no big men with the ability to give you 60% from the paint. No hook shot, no bank shot, no footwork… It is not about "How rockets shut down Rudy Gobert". it's more about "How Rudy Gobert struggles to convert from the paint".
    4:11 that's a foul

Good breakdown! Does anyone notice what’s missing from these clips? … James Harden. This defense can work and potentially change the league, but Harden is how teams can beat this system of tags, switches, one pass away help.
