This was Kobe’s greatest scoring game and efficient game, even though wasn’t the most points but to do it with Michael Jordan on the other team must have made it more special for him since he loved Jordan R.I.P Kobe 8 24 🌹

Kobe just want to be like Mike lol..thatd that's all he will always be behind Jordan no disrespect tho just saying and stop putting these fake title's Jordan was old already and was playing better the most of the young players at that time. Jordan just came to the because he loved the game of basketball.

The student became the master in this game, Kobe put on a scoring clinic! The one thing that I can take away from this incredible performance is that Kobe may have modeled his game after MJ but he was much more of a volume shooter than MJ… the range on those shots was ridiculous!

I said it once and I’m going to say it again, Kobe is easily one of the TOP 3 greatest players of all time. Anybody who disagrees doesn’t understand the game of basketball and that’s just a fucking fact. 🤷🏽‍♂️

When someone lies to you and tells you Jordan would dominate in this era show them this. This is what would’ve happened if Jordan would’ve faced real athletes instead of Craig Elho and John Starks. It’s easy to have a “killer instinct” against 6’3 guards with average skills.

those first opening buckets. could you imagine that being broadcasted on TNT in 2020 with 4k HD? it was literally jordan with the first two buckets then kobe coming right back and responding, then jordan hit that little fade on fisher. thats the opening sequences i wanna see when kobe and mj are going at it on their last game.

Kobe didn’t talk to his teammates for 2 weeks before this game because he was hurt and pissed about what MJ said to him the meeting before this “you can wear the shoes but you’ll never fill them” Kobe was on a mission this game

Kobe is a truly great player but I have to dissent with the torch being passed from one to the other.
In my opinion, the torch lighted up with Jordan and is still waiting for a heir.
To put it in other words, he is on a planet on his own and is waiting for someone to go there too.
I repeat, nothing against Kobe, he, like any great player before and after him is the best of the best of the earth.

Jordan was just schooling Ko, making sure he had what it takes before he passed the torch. Kobe proved he had more than enough to carry the torch. Thanks, M.J. for passing the torch to Kobe, and thanks Kobe for carrying the torch so elegantly. R.I.P. Kobe, you're the best, the greatest of all time Black Mamba!

Let's not forget, Kobe had 33 against MJ and Pippen…in his 2nd season. He also had to face LeBron one last time as a shell of himself with more mileage and injuries than MJ had here, and it didn't go like this. Just saying…

Yeah that's how it works, Jordan passed on the torch on his way back down from Mt Olympus. What's sobering is the thought of a descending Michael passed by an ascending Kobe when MJ was circa. 40 years old – shows how high Jordan raised the bar and i do not think any Basketball player has experienced the heights which prime Jordan reached in their careers. Kobe was close because he is the most comparible player – but that's because he was lucky enough to guard MJ for many years and had an amazing talent and work ethic himself. R.I.P Kobe #2 greatest player of all time, all you mate.

Although at the time Mike never said it, watching this game, it was obvious Jordan passed the torch to Kobe, but it was also the moment Jordan realized he wasn't young and I think he was a bit hurt by that reality but also relieved that he didn't have to prove himself anymore because the game was in Kobe's hands.

Funny how nobody except Kobe went off against MJ in his Wizard years.

I've seen him go toe to toe with MUCH younger stars like VC, Tmac, Pierce, KG. And even he got the best of them by playing mind games and intimidating them.

MJ was one of a kind

Logically, Kobe was having none of it and would certainly go OFF against MJ, knowing it was his last game vs mj. And for good measire he ruined MJ s last all star and his game winner by bringing that game into OT, which the west won of course…. Kobe was a killa.

Compare this to Lbj last all star and last game vs Kobe, in which he joked around and playfully went into Kobe's hands, which he ofc gladly took and schooled Bron with a few more highlights.

I remember seeing this basketball game live on TV when I was 12 years old, going on 13. This game was so fun and exciting to watch, it's still is too. Kobe is my all time favorite player, he is definitely the closest to MJ in my opinion but MJ is definitely the Goat without question. R.I.P Mamba, you are sorely and truly missed my brother. #BlackMambaForever824

Correction: Kobe didn't destroy Jordan here. Kobe hardly scored against MJ, but got most of his points off Jerry Stackhouse who poorly guarded him. While MJ easily scored against everyone else including Bryant. MJ was just old and needed rest from time to time. And MJ was playing SF here not SG, meaning, Kobe would not get that 55 if Jordan was on him all the time

Kobe never liked when people compared him to Jordan, watch The Last Dance so y'all could be more educated about the game on the inside instead of on the outside and being closed minded asf at the fact that everything kobe would do came from Jordan. They were literally like siblings as described by kobe Jordan was like the older brother to him. Plz respect Jordan and Bryant's wishes if you all love them so much the least you could do is STOP COMPARING THEM. Only one MJ and only one BlackMamba. Ik a bit more then just off from the documentary only due to the fact that I was conceived and born around this era and my mom would tell me so many stories about it all saying how she was giving birth to me literally the next day after the 98 finals. Yea I just wanted to add that just bcuz. Idk I'm human. Moving on. Long Live The Black Mamba. And Jordan will forever be one of the greatest to ever step foot on a basketball court.
