The thing I love about this is that Johnny Pearson wrote it for nothing in particular as a piece of off the shelf library music. Being from the UK, Football (American) was probably the furthest thing from his mind, and yet it is now inextricably linked forever with it.

0:26 when my sphincter relaxed, AFTER seeing kornhoser and thheissman for too many secundz. the theme as this was pretty much the same for many, many seasons. You Got: dandy don, cosell, dick nixon, namath, o.j., and others, until the change to ESPN in the 2000's. and you show theissmann? I'll Tell You What: the only thing WORSE, than trying to endure a football broadcast with theisssmannn in the booooth, was trying to get through a major league playoff (or god forbid, world series,) baseball game with goddamn Tim McCarver yammering and yammering and never shutting up: EVER!!. Joe "I won the Superbowl Once" Theismann was on TV for YEARS. ughh total showboat who could never let the game proceed without something to say. both men: the BANE of new york sports fans. total bad mojo muthas

    Who’s ready for some ######### football 🏈!

    31 wannabes 1 who wants it .

Championship football takes guts determination and giving it all you got.

Guys like Jim Otto 00 and Otis Sistrunk 60. Men who played with all they had. The greatness of the Raiders 🏴‍☠️.

Back in the 70's and 80's, who else use to slow-motion run in their house as a kid with a little plastic football, like they are running down the sideline towards the end zone when this song came on? Surely I can't be the only one….this is classic stuff!

My high school's marching band would play this song, VERY LOUDLY, right before the opening kickoff of each half at the home games. They actually got us an interference penalty once.
EDIT: They'd play like Hell regardless of who was kicking, but obviously they'd play juuuuust a little louder if it was the away team.
